Dog Project
This project is for member’s ages 8-18 years old. This project is designed for members who have little to no experience. Members will accomplish the following learning experiences:
- Learn what kind of dog would be best for you and your family
- How much training you want to give it
- Obedience training
- Learn how to train a dog to obey certain beginning and novice level commands such as heel, sit, down, stand for examination, recall, finish and the figure eight
- Investigate dog breed origins
- Find out why dogs are neutered or spayed
- Compare dog foods
- Learn how to communicate about dogs
- Advanced training
- Learn about “alpha dog” concept
- Learn about dogs that help people
- How to do a budget
- How to conduct an experiment on a dog’s sense of smell
